| The first pass of the buffer on the wet sanded rear valence. The clear was wet sanded with 1500 grit paper, and any runs were first cut down with 1200 grit paper..yes there WERE a few but with base clear they come out really quick! To save buffing time,I go over the entire piece again with 2500 grit paper. The buffing starts with a pass over the entire panel using 3M Medium Cut Imperial Microfinishing rubbing compound. The next pass over the panel is with 3M Finesse-It II. Depending on the severity of the sanding scratches, the Medium cut compound can be eliminated. The third pass is with Rubber- Seal Swirl Out or Liquid Ebony. I always wet sand my paint work to eliminate all texture and to obtain ultimate depth and flatness! |
